Frequently asked questions

What programs does MCMA run?

Catering for all ages and instruments, we run a diverse range of programs throughout the year, including Summer Academy, year-round academic courses, Band Labs, our Tutor Partner Program, masterclasses, and other specialised learning experiences.

What's the difference between the Summer Academy and the Summer Band Labs programs?

The Summer Academy is a more complete and intensive program. It includes everything offered in Summer Band Labs - such as playing in an ensemble/band - plus weekly music theory, ear training, rhythm training, and instrument tuition. It's ideal for students who want a broader musical education alongside the band experience. The Summer Band Labs program is designed for students who simply want to play in a band. It focuses on the ensemble experience, so it's a great option for students who may already be taking instrument lessons elsewhere and want to develop their skills in a real band setting.

I'm a music tutor - how do I get involved?

Through our Tutor Partner Program. You keep teaching your students while we run the bands and performances, and you earn referral rewards for students you introduce. Get in touch to learn more.

How do I apply?

Each program has its own application form. For Band Labs, you can apply either as an individual or as a band (if applying as a band, you can contact us through our online contact form). For all other academic programs, please begin your application from the relevant program page.

Where are programs held?

At professional venues across Malta & Gozo, including The Garage in Ħaż-Żebbuġ - one of Malta & Gozo's leading live music venues.
